The “New” feed is currently flooded with what looks like a coordinated spam wave, 400+ topics in a short window, some posted only seconds or minutes apart. It’s all the same pattern: fake customer-support phone numbers (Qatar Airways, British Airways, Lufthansa, Cathay Pacific, JetBlue, Expedia, Yahoo Mail account recovery, Guardio, etc.), often with obfuscated numbers using fancy Unicode characters or arrows to dodge filters. They’re also posted across unrelated categories (Beginners, Transformers, Datasets, Models, DeepSpeed), and none of it has anything to do with AI or ML.
The attacker keeps creating new accounts, each one posts a few topics and then another takes over, so banning accounts one by one won’t stop it. These are almost certainly phishing / scam-call funnels, the numbers are typically fake support lines built to get people’s personal or payment details, so it’s worth cleaning up quickly.
Could a moderator (@meganariley or anyone on the team) bulk-remove these topics and, more importantly, add a filter that catches the pattern (phone numbers in titles, obfuscated digits, “Terminal / Office” title formats) or tighten posting limits for brand-new accounts? The current spam filter clearly isn’t catching this format. I’m also flagging the individual topics.
